Eastern Area Squad Policy Statement for 2011-12 (members' Area login reqd)

The Eastern Area wish to invite all Senior Eastern Area archers who meet the undernoted criteria and who are not MB or GMB status to attend and shoot for the Area Squad.

Ladies Compound: Bowman Status or 1st class with 2 verified scores of 1,150+ on a Ladies Fita
Ladies Recurve: Bowman Status or 1st class with 2 verified scores of 900+ on a Ladies Fita
Gents Compound: Bowman Status or 1st Class with 2 verified scores of 1,200+ on a Gents Fita
Gents Recurve: Bowman Status or 1st class with 2 verified scores of 1,000+ on a Gents Fita

Hereford/York Scores of an equivalent number and calculated in the normal fashion will be accepted.

No invitations to Squad will be made for the Barebow or Longbow bowstyles this season.

It is preferable for candidate archers to achieve the required entry criteria in open competition, ideally with the scores available for all to see on the SAA Rankings list. However given that Bowman status can be achieved at a club target day it is acceptable to submit qualifying scores from club target days provided that these are properly witnessed and verified by another club member.

Classification / Qualifying scores to have been achieved by 31 September 2011. The Selection Committee may consider archers who have achieved below the stated selection criteria however this will be based on available places and performance.

Further details on the Squad will be launched in due course however in the meantime this announcement is posted so that all interested archers can ensure that they are attending shoots and club target days appropriately to ensure maximum opportunities for Squad selection.

Should you have any queries prior to the next announcement please contact - Kevin Young - the Eastern Area CDC.

Eastern Area Junior League

After the success of last year the EAJL will be run again this year in the Indoor Season. It is intended to replicate the previous format but to make it bigger and better for all involved. At this stage hosting venues and dates need to be confirmed so that a calendar of the various legs can be established. If your club is in the Eastern Area and is willing to host a leg please contact - Kevin Young - the Eastern Area CDC.

Furthermore the success of the EAJL is based on the energy which the adults are willing to put into it for the participants, i.e. our Juniors. Volunteers are asked to help administrate the project, if you are willing to give up a couple of hours after each leg to organise the scores and help administrate the league please contact Kevin on the address above. All help is much appreciated and you will not just be dumped with a problem - many a hand makes light work and we can all create a better experience for the kids if more people pitch in.
