As part of Continuous Professional Development, it is advisable to go on courses organised by SportsCoach UK / SportScotland.

There are courses for various levels of Coaches, from Level 1 up to Senior Coach.

The following is a list of some of the available courses, and is by no means an exhaustive list of all available courses.

Field archery : a taster for coaches

14th February 2009 - Argyll Field Archers, Inverawe

AFA are in the process of completing their course at Inverawe. The course comprises two sections, an unmarked course (12 targets) and a marked course (12 targets), laid out to GNAS/FITA rules.

Coaches are welcome to come along on the 14th to see how a course is constructed (all of the work is being done by the AFA club, there is no requirement to get your hands dirty... ** )

Coaches will :

  • get an insight into the setting out of a field course, with all the pitfalls and precautions that need to be taken
  • get hints and tips on how to shoot from different stances (uphill, downhill, across dead ground)
  • have the chance to shoot the unmarked course
  • get those all important CPD points!!!

No previous field archery experience is required for this event.

Cost for the day will be £10 payable to AFA.
