Round Up: 2024 SDS National Indoor Archery Championships

2 Dec 2024

What a great way to conclude the SDS events for 2024 and Scottish Disability Sport Week by hosting the SDS National Archery Championships in Perth, which took place on Sunday 1st December at the impressive Bertha Park High School.

Well done to everyone that took part and thank you to all the volunteers and officials that helped make it such a memorable day.  This included the Perth Archery Club team led by Simon Garforth who were involved in transporting equipment, setup, event delivery and tidy up along with the this year Adelle and Gareth Fleming from Lasswade Archery Club.

Scottish Archery’s Euan Murray who was at the event, reflected on the day:

‘‘It was another fantastic event, with this year having increased number of entries across the 4 sections which included three recurve and one compound section.  Participants travelled from as far north as Inverness and up from Dumfries too.  There were some really close results, in particular within the Compound category where the difference between Gold and Silver was one 10 being shot.  It was really pleasing to see everyone enjoying the event and a variety of ages and abilities taking part.  It was also a great opportunity for archers to catch up who had not done so in a while.’’
