We are pleased to be offering the opportunity for members/coaches to access some disability inclusion training. In partnership with St Andrews University Archery Club and Scottish Student Sport we are running a Disability Inclusion Training workshop delivered by Scottish Disability Sport (SDS). Course Details
Date: Saturday 3rd February 2024
Time/Duration: 14:30-17:30 (3 hours)
Location:Â University of St Andrew, Saints Sport - University Park, St Leonards Road, St Andrews, Fife, KY16 9DY
Cost: £5 per person
We are able to offer this course at a reduced course thanks to funding we have received from The Fletcher's Trust (The Worshipful Company of Fletchers) through ArcheryGB to support inclusion training for students/coaches
Course Description:
This is a 3 hour Disability Inclusion Training workshop delivered by Scottish Disability Sport (SDS). Â SDSÂ is the Scottish governing and co-coordinating body of all sports for people of all ages and abilities with a physical, sensory or learning disability.Â
The purpose of this workshop is to raise and improve standards, ensure the enjoyment of members and develop young people, athletes and players to their full potential with aim of equipping coaches and volunteers to deliver inclusive coaching sessions.
Below is more specific learning outcomes:
·       Support and inspire the delivery of quality, meaningful and challenging archery activity for participants with physical disabilities, hearing loss, vision impairment and learning disabilities
·       Support understanding of the participant
·       Look at the Activity Inclusion Model and STEP Framework in a practical archery setting
·       Discuss communication in a practical environment
Suitable for:
16 years + and have an active membership with Scottish Archery
