equality, diversity & inclusion (EDi)

Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) is embedded as part of our commitment and aspirations at Scottish Archery to ensure we are supporting our sport to be welcoming, accessible & fair for everyone and this underpins everything that we do.  This illustrated through our mission of establishing Archery as an inclusive, fun and collaborative sport to grow and develop communities.

We have an EDI Subgroup who are supporting us to reduce inequalities in our sport, embed a culture of inclusion and encourage & promote diversity within the sport of archery.

Equality

Equality means equal opportunities and fairness for everyone.  This means not treating people unfairly because of reasons protected by discrimination law ('protected characteristics'). For example, because of sex, age or race.

Diversity

Diversity is the range of people.  For example, this might mean people with different ages, religions, ethnicities, people with disabilities, and both men and women. It also means valuing those differences.

Inclusive Classroom Activity

Inclusion

An inclusive environment means everyone feels valued.  It lets everyone feel safe to come up with different ideas, raise issues/suggestions – being encouraged to do so and trying new things.  Its including the needs of people who experience exclusion
