Iain MacMillan has kindly put together a handbook. This could serve as a basis for others groups looking to set-up a local format winter league and could be used as a template for creating a summer league.

Postal league
The Winter Portsmouth Postal League will starts in September and run over 6 months with a month break in the middle. The following months will be used, September, October, November, January, February and March.
It is hoped that as many clubs and archers of all abilities as possible will take part as it helps to provide competition for archers who do not regularly shoot at tournaments, and it helps us all keep in touch over the winter. Clubs can enter as many teams as they wish.
