Day one, qualification day, the new team captain was announced to an unsuspecting Keith Radigan. Keith swiftly accepted the role and led the team on their first team warm up session of 2023.
The weather held for the first half of the qualification round. Unfortunately, the heavens opened for the second half. The archers battled against the elements to complete the WA70/60/50 round. With personal bests being achieved by Lucy Coutts, Connie Clinch, Cairn Boyd, and new team captain Keith Radigan. With one new provisional Scottish Barebow record for Connie Clinch.
The Scotland team embraced new members Zac Ibraham, Molly Joyce, Hannah Wells, & Connie Clinch. Fellow Scottish junior Katherine Taylor from Balbardie also competing.
Yet again the Scotland team supported each other through equipment failures following their mantra “no-one shoots alone”.
The archers were randomly divided into teams for an afternoon of Round Robin Team events, building on not only their archery skills but teamwork and communication. No Youth Festival can be complete without our mascot. Fluffy the Undead Union was in attendance!
