Coaching

The delivery of quality coaching instils the necessary competence and confidence for lifelong participation and increases the likelihood of retaining participants in the sport of Archery. Coaching, coaches and deliverers play a significant role in helping people set and achieve goals and fulfil their potential.

Coaching Qualifications

Coaches are essential to ensuring archers can shoot in a safe & competent manner so they can have a fun & enjoyable experience of the sport.  Are you interested in becoming a qualified coach or progressing to the next level? AGB also offer an Instructor Award, more info available here

PVG Scheme

The Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme is managed by Disclosure Scotland. It helps ensure people who are unsuitable to work with children and protected adults cannot do regulated work with these vulnerable groups

Child Protection Training

Training will provide you with the knowledge on child wellbeing and protection that will give you the confidence to deal with issues that may arise in your role working with children

CPD Workshops & Learning

Throughout the year we will offer CPD opportunities for coaches, ranging from online sessions to our conference.  The aim of our CPD offerings is to provide coaches with the opportunity to delve deeper into topics/areas that may help further their development as a coach

AGB Coaching Licence

Archery GB coaches must renew their licence every three years. We encourage coaches to remain active and maintain their standards of coaching. We are happy to support with this process so please just in get in touch with coaching@scottisharchery.org.uk

First Aid

The activity of archery is relatively safe because of the training that members receive through a beginner’s course, and the rules and regulations such as Rules of Shooting. The safety of archers is paramount and therefore consideration for first aid requirements should be based on several factors
