We would like to congratulate Curtis Hirst on passing his assessment to become a qualified ArcheryGB National Judge. This makes him the second person in Scotland at this level alongside Frank Schallmoser – fantastic achievement Curtis!
When asked about how he feels on his recent success, Curtis commented:
“I am delighted to have passed my National Assessment. I would like to thank all my fellow judges for getting me to this stage. To reach the pinnacle of UK judging and be given such responsibility is something I will treasure always.”
Becoming an archery judge provides the opportunity to learn new skills, build on your own confidence and encourage those taking part in our great sport, whether they’re beginners or performance athletes.
As a judge, your role is to take scores in competitions, ensure that the rules are followed and that everyone plays fair! You’ll also be in charge of safety, and checking that the competitors’ equipment is in order.
Once again well done Curtis and we look forward to seeing you at future competitions!
