Following a successful application, we are delighted to announce that Scottish Archery has been awarded £24,000 through the Summer of Sport 2026 allocation from Sportscotland.
This fantastic investment will enable us to deliver a series of Ready, Steady, Shoot launch events across Scotland, providing more opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to experience our sport in a welcoming, fun, and supportive environment.
The Ready, Steady, Shoot programme has been designed to introduce new participants to archery while strengthening connections with existing clubs and volunteers throughout the country, and as a platform for creating new clubs where there is a demand. Through these launch events, we aim to inspire more people, specifically juniors, to get involved, develop their skills, and discover the many benefits that participation can bring. We are delivering an online launch of Ready, Steady, Shoot to our members on 16th of June. To sign up and hear more about the programme and how your club can get involved, book a place here.
A key focus of the project is sustainability. Working closely with our affiliated clubs, we will create clear and accessible pathways for participants to continue their journey beyond the introductory sessions. By linking newcomers directly with local clubs, coaches, and volunteers, we hope to support long-term engagement and help build stronger, more connected sporting communities. Where clubs are at capacity, or there is no club provision but local interest, we will work with local partners and volunteers to create new clubs.
The funding will allow us to take the sport into communities across Scotland, reaching new audiences and reducing barriers to participation.
