Calton was on target for sporting fun after archery became the curtain-raiser for this month’s Commonwealth Games.
In a link up with the Games, Thenue Communities, the chartiable subsidiary of Thenue Housing, is providing a series of archery sessions at the Calton Heritage and Learning Centre. The events are provided by Scottish Archery – the national governing body for all forms of archery in Scotland.
The second in a series of “soft archery” sessions took place this week under the leadership of Robert Clark from Scottish Archery.
Soft archery is a beginner-friendly, highly accessible version of the sport that replaces traditional sharp arrows with lightweight arrows tipped with large suction cups.
The link-up between the Games and Thenue came about as a result of the Games’ community engagement programme.
