After a lengthy recruitment process, we are delighted to announce that our new interim Chairperson will be John Nicholson. John retired from an engineering and business background some six years ago and took up archery, initially with a recurve but more recently John shoots longbow.
“I wanted to become chair of Scottish Archery because involvement of members in setting the strategic objectives of the association will be key to growing the membership and making the sport more enjoyable and rewarding. I look forward to engaging with members both at competitions and at club and regional sessions.
People are attracted to archery for a host of reasons from de-stressing of daily life through to the desire to improve and perhaps compete on the world stage. I would like that through working with the board and with members we can help each member maximise their enjoyment of the sport”. – John Nicholson
John will take on the role of Interim Chairperson and the role will be ratified at the next AGM or a sooner EGM if arranged. We are very excited to have John join the Board as he will bring a depth of skills and experience from his business background, as well as a passion for archery.
