We would like to update on our membership structure review for those who could not make it along to the Annual General Meeting on Saturday. Earlier this year we formed a membership structure working group to review the membership structure and fees. The working group had a representative from each of the three areas: North, East and West. We created a proposal which would then be taken to the AGM for vote following board approval. Shortly after creating the proposal, AGB changed their membership fees and structure. This meant that we had to review our proposal and consider aligning to the new structure set by Archery GB. We realised in the lead up the Annual General Meeting that we did not have enough time to properly consider the cost implications to certain groups of our membership, for example the over 60s age group would have a considerable annual increase if we aligned to AGB. Aligning would also mean that we would lose our family membership discounts, which is a huge benefit to our archery families and a discount we would like to continue to offer.
We plan to reconvene the membership working group to review the implications of aligning to the new AGB structure, and ensure we complete an equality impact assessment of any changes recommended. If anyone would like to be part of the membership fee working group, then please contact Lyndsay Noon lyndsay.noon@scottisharchery.org.uk
We thank you for your patience.
