As well as supporting the development and growth of the archery across Scotland, we are also working to enhance the additional benefits that we can offer to our members. Following a successful partnership with The Loughborough Applied Psychology Service (LAPS) to provide Sport Psychology support for our Pathway Squad archers, we are delighted to announce that we have developed the partnership further to include reduced rates for Sport Psychology sessions for every member of Scottish Archery.
Whether you’re stepping onto the Olympic range or hanging out with your friends at your local club, concentration and focus is essential for archers to remove distractions. Sport psychology can not only help in these areas, it can also help with anxieties about competition, developing routines before a shot, improving practice efficiency, helping archers to perform under pressure and maintain confidence, and helping archers to get the most out of their archery experience.
As part of the offer, Scottish Archery members can now access a free 15-minute consultation. The free consultation is an opportunity to see how sport psychology may be able to help you. If you're curious to find out more about sport psychology and if it could help you, this is a chance for you to explore further with a practitioner (all sessions are online). There is no obligation to sign up for future sessions, this simply provides an opportunity to connect with a practitioner to find out more.
Following the consultation, our members can then sign up for a 50-minute sport psychology session (or sessions) with their chosen practitioner at the reduced rate of £42 per session (sessions are usually £45).
To book in for your free 15-minute consultation, email sportpsychology@lboro.ac.uk
If you would like to go ahead and book a session, you can sign up with your chosen practitioner by following the link here: Sport Psychology Individual Consultation | Loughborough Online Store (lboro.ac.uk)

No matter the nature and level of your involvement in sport and exercise, our LAPS practitioners are available for personalised 1-1 support. After your free consultation, your initial session will involve an exploration of your experience with sports or exercise, including your goals, any concerns you might have, and what you want to achieve with sport psychology. Based on this discussion, a development plan will be created to inform future sessions. With several practitioners available, we’ll find the practitioner who is the best fit for you.Â
Our Pathway Squad and U21 Squad will continue to access additional discounts through our partnership. We very much look forward to working in partnership with the fantastic Loughborough Applied Psychology Service Team to provide support to our members.
