Murray Elliot, a Paralympian who was part of Team GB and recognised Sandy as an influential figure in his archery career, paid tribute to him:
"Sandy was a constant feature when I was competing in the early days, always quick with advice or a sharp, witty retort. A six time Paralympian, when Sandy said something, I listened. It was Sandy, and 5 time Paralympian Jim Buchanan who persuaded me to become classified and try to get selected for the para squad. The rest is history. One of the good guys, and a very sad loss, my heartfelt sympathies to his family and friends".
We would like to pass on our condolences to Sandy’s family.
