Renewed Coach Education Subsidy from sportscotland for 2025/26

8 Jul 2025

Following a successful year of progress and increase in number of coaching courses having taken place, Scottish Archery is pleased to announce the renewal of its Coach Education Subsidy for 2025/26 (until 31st March 2026) thanks to sportscotland.

Currently, we have 32.6% of our coaches are female and only 2% of coaches under the age of 25 which demonstrates a need to focus on engaging these particular groups.

Based on current data we have decided to take an additional targeted approach when issuing the subsidy.  This includes subsidy being available to two priority groups: Young People under the age of 25 and Women & Girls.

The 2025/2026 subsidy continues to target key barriers to entry for females and young people — financial cost, logistical challenges, and underrepresentation—by offering grants specifically for coaching course costs.

Key Subsidy Details:

  • Level 1 & 2 courses: Minimum of 50% funding

  • Support available for course costs

  • Individual needs-based assessment by a Scottish Archery panel

  • Courses must begin before March 31, 2026 to qualify

Applicants must hold (or be working towards) a valid Archery GB (AGB) Coach Licence and membership with both Scottish Archery & AGB as well as and reside in Scotland.

All grants are subject to review, and applicants are required to provide a fully completed application along with receipts for costs.

Applications are now open, and aspiring female and young coaches across Scotland are encouraged to apply early to take full advantage of this opportunity.

To apply, please fill out this application form here.
