New Year, New Skills - Start your Coaching Journey this month

8 Jan 2026

Archery GB’s Level 1 Session Coach course prepares learners to deliver engaging sessions for beginners. You’ll learn how to design and deliver a beginner’s course, the most popular way for archery clubs to welcome new members, and gain a recognised qualification which makes you stand out from people doing informal coaching and instructing.

This qualification is structured into the module. Each module is completed separately, providing greater flexibility to complete the learning around work and home-life. We recommend completing the modules in the order described, although we recognise this may not always be possible.

It is important that anyone attending a module/course has basic experience of taking part in archery (i.e. beyond a beginner level). The course is open to members and non-members of Archery GB, aged at least 15 years old by the first day of the course. When carrying out supported practice sessions, learners who are under the age of 18 must be supervised by a responsible adult.

In regards to future courses, we still have a couple of spaces on a course starting on 31st January:

  • Expression of Interest - Becoming a Coach

If you are in the East or North of Scotland and interested in potentially attending a course in the future, please complete our Expression of Interest form, click here to view.

  • Coach Education Subsidy

Through our Coach Education subsidy we are able to support participation for Women and Girls and/or young people (under age of 25) in Scotland in Archery GB Coaching Courses.

Our primary goal is to increase the number of qualified female and young coaches by:

  • Enhancing female representation and young people in coaching roles

  • Reducing financial barriers for women & girls and young people pursuing coach education.

  • Addressing logistical challenges which often hinder participation.
