Start Archery Week 2025 - 10-18 May

3 Apr 2025

Start Archery Week 2025, a week-long celebration of archery's vibrant community and its power to bring people together.

From Saturday 10 May to Sunday 18 May, Archery GB are inviting clubs and organisations across the country to open their doors and welcome new archers of all ages and abilities.

This year's theme, Community, highlights the strong sense of belonging and friendship that our sport fosters. Whether you're a seasoned archer or just starting out, archery offers a unique opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, learn new skills, and have fun in a supportive environment.

Archery is more than just a sport; it's a community. It fosters a strong sense of belonging:

  • Shared passion: Archers come together united by a love for the sport. This shared passion creates a strong bond between us.

  • Supportive environment: The best archery clubs provide a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. Members encourage and help each other, creating a positive and inclusive space.

  • Shared goals: Whether it's improving scores, achieving classifications, or simply having fun, archers work best when we work towards common goals. This shared purpose strengthens bonds and creates a sense of teamwork.

  • Social interaction: Archery events and competitions offer opportunities for archers to socialise, meet new people, and build lasting friendships.

  • Mentorship: Experienced archers often mentor new archers, passing on their knowledge and skills.

Throughout Start Archery Week, we'll be sharing inspiring stories from archers who have found a sense of community and belonging in our sport. We'll also provide resources and ideas for clubs to create inclusive and welcoming events that celebrate the diversity of our archery community.

The Start Archery Week Toolkit offers downloadable posters, social media images and captions, and a couple of checklists to make sure your event goes smoothly.
