Tour Stage 2

13 Jun 2025

Day 1

Similar to stage 1, the day began with brilliant sunshine. The archers were relaxed, in good spirits, and catching up with one another. As is typical for many events in Scotland, the sunshine turned into a heavy downpour with a flash of lightning in the distance. At least it wasn't windy! All the archers performed well, battling through the rain with smiles on their faces.

The head-to-head matches began in the afternoon as the weather cleared up just in time. Everything seemed to go smoothly as the archers advanced towards their final matches.

It was wonderful to see Nathan Macqueen, the Paralympic mixed team gold medallist from Paris 2024, competing. While it's always lovely to familiar faces at events, it's also fantastic to see and meet new archers embarking on their competition journey.

Day 2

It did not rain - much to the delight of the archers.

Again, there was a great atmosphere all day as archers progressed through their qualifying rounds before starting the Head to Heads. Like stage 1 many archers took the opportunity to gain an extra 720 score on their non stage day.

Congratulations to Colin Hargreaves from Lasswade who managed a new Scottish Record for Longbow 50+men!

Sam and Jules again supported the event with their popular bacon rolls and burgers.

Thank you as always to the judges for their time and expertise as without them these events would not run.

Also Huge thanks to Erin and Alisdair for running the results for the weekend

Well done to Aberdeen University and Aberdeen City Archers for hosting stage 2.

See you all at Ayr for stage 3!
