Soft Archery Hits the Mark at Mosspark Primary Health Week

Robert recently introduced Soft Archery to pupils at Mosspark Primary as part of their Health Week celebrations. For many of the over 150 pupils from Primary4 to 7 who took part, it was their first time trying the sport—and it was a resounding success. The sessions were met with enthusiasm and excitement, with pupils showing great interest and surprising skill. The overwhelmingly positive feedback has opened the door for Soft Archery to become a regular feature in school activities and after-school clubs, offering a fun and accessible new way for young people to stay active and engaged.

East Ayrshire All Ability Sports Day

We were thrilled to take part in this inspiring multi-sport disability event, organised by East Ayrshire Council’s Vibrant Communities as part of Learning Disability Week 2025. The day was filled with energy, inclusion, and enthusiasm as we introduced participants to Soft Archery—an exciting first-time experience for many. We were truly impressed by the incredible skill, focus, and determination shown by everyone who took part. It was a privilege to support such a positive and empowering community event.

Building Skills and Inspiring the Next Generation with Soft Archery in Stirling

This month, Robert successfully delivered Soft Archery training to nine Active Schools Coordinators and sports coaches from Active Stirling. In their roles, these dedicated individuals introduce a variety of sports—now including Soft Archery—to young people across local primary schools. They also lead after-school clubs, where they’ll put their new skills into action, inspire future young leaders, and help nurture a lifelong passion for sport within their communities.

Struan Buchanan, Active Stirling Sportsability Coach shared his reflections from completing the course:

‘‘Training has given me more ideas and games. Now familiar with safety correct rules and technical points. This will be an ideal activity in particular with the groups we work with during holiday programmes.’’

Clackmannanshire School Soft Archery Championships

Nineteen children from P4 to P7 competed at Alva Academy on 16th June as part of the annual Clackmannanshire School Soft Archery Championships.

The event was organised by Clackmannanshire Council and run by the Active Schools team, with help from volunteers from Wee County Archers and the Active Schools Leadership Academy.

The children were split into two mixed categories: P4/5 and P6/7.

Both groups went through qualifier rounds before the top four scorers in each category faced off in a final shoot-out.

Robert attended and was on hand to award medals – well done to all the competitors!
