Ahead of this year’s Annual General Meeting, we want to update members on changes to the Scottish Archery Board.
After more than three years as Chairperson, John will step down from the Board at this year’s AGM. We sincerely thank John for his leadership, commitment and dedication to Scottish Archery. Throughout his time as Chair, John has led with integrity and care, helping to guide the organisation through challenging periods while offering valued stability, mentorship and support to fellow Board members, volunteers, clubs and members.
The Chairperson role is a significant voluntary commitment, and we are extremely grateful for the time and energy John has given to the role, our members and our clubs. His contribution has made a lasting difference to Scottish Archery, and his steady, supportive approach has been greatly appreciated across the community. Although John is stepping down as Chairperson, he will remain involved in archery, which we are delighted about.
Kenneth Ramsay will also step down from the Board at this year’s AGM due to increasing work commitments, after two years as Finance Director. Kenneth has been a valued Board member, bringing time, insight and knowledge to the role, and we thank him for his contribution and commitment to Scottish Archery.
Following these changes, recruitment for four Board positions will open today ahead of the Annual General Meeting.
The four roles are:
·      Chairperson
·      Director of Finance
·      Director of Communication
·      General Director
Michelle Telling was co-opted onto the board as interim Finance Director in July this year, and intends to stand for election by the membership at the AGM this year.
We are looking for individuals who can bring skills, experience, ideas and enthusiasm to the Board, and who share our commitment to supporting clubs, members and the continued growth of archery across Scotland.
We encourage members to consider whether they, or someone they know within the wider archery community, could bring something valuable to these roles. We are keen to hear from a broad range of candidates and welcome new skills, perspectives and ideas to the Board.
