Mental Health Awareness Week - Take Action for all of us

16 May 2026

This Mental Health Awareness Week, the Mental Health Foundation (MHF) are asking people to join us in taking action to support good mental health. Even small actions can help us feel hopeful and less powerless. And while our individual actions matter, when we come together we are even more powerful.

Action: for yourself, for someone else, for all of us

Action has been chosen as this year's theme for Mental Health Awareness Week because, while awareness is vital, real change comes when we take action too. Together, we’ve come a long way on mental health, but we can’t risk going backwards. There’s still much we can do to prevent people becoming unwell in the first place.

Take action for all of us

Our individual actions matter, but they're only part of the story.

Mental Health Foundation’s CEO Mark Rowland charts the progress they have made in raising awareness and understanding of mental health.

For decades, we've been leading the charge for greater awareness of mental health problems. But awareness alone isn't enough.

People deserve the right support before they reach crisis point. Ask your MP what action they are taking on mental health.
