New PVG Process and Safeguarding Training

30 Jul 2024

As you will be aware Scottish Archery have revised how the PVG process is carried out, along with other voluntary organisations within Scotland.    We appreciate the patience of those Clubs we have been working with to process PVGs and have produced a Guide to the new PVG process which will take Club Committees and Child Wellbeing and Protection Officer through the process.

These can be found on the website: SAFEGUARDING | Scottish Archery

Relevant documents can be found under the heading:

As part of the new process it is vitally important that Child Wellbeing and Protection Officers are aware of their responsibilities and from the next affiliation year, October 2024, it will be mandatory that Child Wellbeing and Protection Officers have completed the Child Wellbeing and Protection Officers course.  Scottish Archery are running the course on the undernoted date and have made this free of charge for Child Wellbeing and Protection Officer and any of the other Committee members who wish to attend. We will add more courses if there is demand.

In order to be certified in the Child Wellbeing and Protection Officers course, candidates must also have done the Child Wellbeing and Protection in Sport course.   We are also running a series of these, at a reduced rate of £15 for members.

To book onto these courses please follow the undernoted links:

15 August – Child Wellbeing and Protection in Sport – members rate of £15 – Book Here

22 August – Child Wellbeing and Protection Officer Training – free to members – Book Here

These courses are also available for the wider sporting community to book onto through sportscotland website, at a cost of £25 so would urge members to book on as soon as possible.

If you have any questions or require support with PVGs please let me know and we will be happy to assist at admin@scottisharchery.org.uk
